Two warnings Godella publishes and nobody repeats
The green NIE sheet is not an identity document. Godella says so on its own page. If you turn up with the hoja verde and no passport, you do not register. Bring the passport, every time, for everyone on the form.
Every adult has to sign — and that includes the owner of the property when you are registering at an address that is not yours. One parent cannot do this alone with a photo of the other's signature.
The good news, if you have not rented yet
Godella is the most flexible of the towns we checked on proof of address: it accepts an electricity, water or IBI receipt. That matters for a family that has arrived before signing anything, and it is a genuinely different rule from its neighbours.
Cita previa at citaprevia.godella.es, although the padrón is not listed there as a service in its own right, so allow for a call.
Why families end up here
Godella sits right on the city's edge — 15 minutes by car, 20 by metro on lines 1 and 2 — with an old centre, big houses and a long history of families who wanted a village without the commute.
What it costs to live here
Houses commonly sit between €1,000 and €1,700 a month, with flats below that.
