Why this school and not the one next to it
Of the concertados clustered around the Cabanyal, the Grao and the port, this is the only one that goes all the way to Bachillerato. If a family wants to live near the beach, stay out of the private sector, and not move the child again at sixteen, this is the single route.
The register authorises 8 units and 187 places in Infantil, 18 and 450 in Primaria, 12 and 346 in ESO, and 4 units with 108 places in Bachillerato, in Sciences and Technology and in Humanities and Social Sciences, with optional German, programming and networks, psychology, and experimental work in physics and chemistry.
Two admission details nobody else publishes
The school's own admissions PDF carries two things we have not found anywhere else, and both of them break applications:
- To claim the sibling points, you have to ask the school where the enrolled child already studies for their NIA — the pupil identification number. Without it, the points do not attach.
- An EU citizen's certificate number shorter than eight digits has to be padded with zeros after the "C". 123456 becomes C00123456. That is the exact error that throws out an online application, and it is the kind of thing a family finds out after the window closes.
The rest of the process, as published: entirely online through ADMINOVA; anyone without the means to file electronically goes in person to their first-choice school, which acts as a help point, always by appointment; one application per child, amendable while the window is open, with the last one counting; up to twenty schools in order of preference, ten for Bachillerato; supporting documents are handed over at enrolment, not at application.
What it costs: the page exists and it is empty
There is a page called "Tarifas" —
pmariagrao.org/descargables/tarifas/— with no figure on it. No PDF, no table, no amount. The only things linked from it are the internal rules and a generic Catholic-schools leaflet.
Everything is described in full and priced at nothing: the canteen (own kitchen, a nutritionist, sittings from 12:10 to 15:00, a fixed monthly fee October to May or a daily ticket), the 07:30–08:50 morning care, and a uniform specified garment by garment down to the velcro shoes.
And they publish the heading without the number. In Primaria they advertise "complementary activities — three sessions a week." In a concertado, that is the line that is charged. No amount is given.
The only prices anywhere on the site are two after-school activities and both sheets are from October 2024: English with an outside provider at €480 for the year in eight instalments of €60, and robotics at €34 a month plus a €30 kit.
No concertado in this city publishes its voluntary contribution, so this is not an outlier — but the empty page with the word "tarifas" on it is the clearest example we have of why a family has to ask.
Languages
The school describes its provision better than most and still gives no split: English conversation from year 1 of Primaria, optional French and German from year 3, English streaming groups in years 1 and 2 of ESO and a weekly small-group oral English class in every ESO year, native-speaker teachers in Infantil. The register puts English at 11% in Infantil, 18% in Primaria, 27% in ESO and 28% in Bachillerato.
One thing to check before you visit
The sidebar on every page still advertises open days on 5 and 6 February 2020. There is no current date. Vacancies by year group are not published either — both are phone calls.
