What this school is, and it is not like the others
San José began as a school for deaf pupils and opened to hearing pupils in 2003-04. Both still study here together. That is not a line from a mission statement, it is the school's structure: alongside Infantil, Primaria and ESO the register authorises 4 units and 57 places of special education.
For a family whose child has hearing loss and is moving to Valencia, this is the first school to call in the city, and the reason is institutional rather than aspirational.
Small, and small is the point
Infantil is second cycle only — 3 to 6 — with three classrooms, one per year group. Three units and 72 places. Then 6 units and 150 places in Primaria, 4 and 120 in ESO.
It ends at sixteen. There is no Bachillerato and no vocational stage on its own site.
⚠️ One thing to settle on the phone: the school advertises a Diploma Dual with Academica from year 3 of ESO and describes it as covering "ESO and Bachillerato" — but Bachillerato does not appear anywhere in its list of stages. Ask them directly what happens at sixteen.
The admission page is the best in the district
Most schools publish a leaflet. This one publishes the regulation: the Resolution of 25 February 2026, Order 8/2024, Decree 48/2024 and its Annex I, and the 2019 resolution covering separated parents. Applications go through ADMINOVA with centre code 46009708.
And it publishes the dates the places are announced, which almost nobody does:
"They will be released on 7 May for INFANTIL AND PRIMARIA and on 21 May for SECONDARY."
Two more things from that page that apply to every school in this city, not just this one:
- Valencia is a single admission zone, so any family resident in the city gets the 10 zone points. Where in the city you rent does not change your score.
- Putting a school as your first choice does not reduce your chances at the others on your list. The school states it explicitly in its own FAQ.
The one gap: the list of "specific circumstances" worth up to 1 point renders empty on the page. Open days are not published.
Languages
The school publishes what it teaches in which language, without percentages, verbatim:
*"We work areas in Spanish, Valencian and English. In Valencian we work the area of Coneixement del Medi. English is taught as a foreign language and in addition we teach the area of Art."*
The register puts Primaria at 33% Valencian, 52% Spanish, 17% English.
What it costs
No amount for anything. Not registration, not tuition, not the voluntary contribution — which in a concertado is the figure that decides the real cost — not the canteen, not the morning club, not any after-school activity.
⚠️ Worse than silence in one place: the canteen rules published on the site are the 2024-25 ones and the visible menu is from April. Those rules matter even without the price, because they set how you are billed:
"The cost of the canteen and playroom service contracted for the 2024-2025 year is monthly and independent of the number of days of service or absences."
Charged in the first five days of the month, books of ten vouchers for occasional days, and a cancellation only takes effect if requested before the 25th of the previous month. Own kitchen, run with Colevisa. Morning club "Los Madrugadores" from 08:00, price not published. After-school: LEGO robotics, English with an outside provider, dance, study skills, chess, football, skating, mental arithmetic — all of them without a price.
Who it suits
A family that wants a small, one-class-per-year school inside the city, in Russafa and L'Eixample walking distance, and that accepts moving the child at sixteen. And, distinctly, a family arriving with a deaf child.
