La Cañada has its own town hall office
This is the detail that saves a family half a day, and it is buried on the municipality's site.
La Cañada does not send you down to Paterna town centre for the padrón. The district has its own municipal office, the SIAC La Canyada, on Carrer 16.
But it opens two days a week: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 to 14:30. And an appointment is obligatory across every Paterna office. Between those two constraints, a family that turns up on a Wednesday has lost the day, and a family that turns up without an appointment has lost it twice.
How we checked this. Paterna's own website did not respond from any route we tried on 2 September 2026. These details come from the municipality's own pages as archived — the SIAC office list from 25 September 2025, the documentation sheet from 16 May 2026. Confirm on paterna.es before you travel, and if it is still down when you read this, phone.
Why families end up here
La Cañada is a district of Paterna, not a town of its own, and it does not read like one: low-rise, pine trees, houses with plots, and a school-run culture. About 20 minutes into Valencia by car, 30 on metro line 2.
What it costs to live here
Houses with a plot commonly sit between €1,300 and €2,200 a month.
