Valencia international school fees 2026: the comparison table

The current Valencia international school market runs from the high 7,000s to just under 10,000 euros in annual tuition on the published pages we checked, but the first-year total is always higher once registration, transport, lunch, and materials are added. That is the part fami

Key takeaways

  • Compare tuition and one-time fees in the same unit.
  • Lunch and transport are included at some schools and extra at others.
  • The first year is usually higher than the second year.
  • Official school pages are the best fee source.

Before you set a date

Is your landing date realistic?

Most families move to Valencia three months later than they planned, because they find out about the school calendar too late. Five questions, thirty seconds, and you will know whether your date works.

Run the Readiness Check

There are 32 international schools in the Valencia metro area and each one publishes its fees differently, in different places, with different categories. Some list tuition by key stage. Some publish a single annual figure that excludes lunch, bus and activities. Some publish nothing at all and tell you to call.

We built this table because a parent comparing schools across three suburbs with two children and a budget to model should not have to spend four hours on school websites to get a rough number. Everything we have is here. Where a school does not publish, we say so and tell you what to ask.

A note on accuracy: Fees change every September. We review this page every April when schools publish the following year's rates. Every figure below is taken directly from the school's own admissions page or published fee document, with the exact source URL and the date we fetched it. Where a school does not publish a fee, we say so. We do not estimate, interpolate, or carry aggregator figures as our own. Before making any financial decision, verify current fees directly with the school's admissions office. Any figure that can change - and they all can - should be confirmed before you rely on it.

The comparison table

Sources for each school are the school's own admissions page or published fee document. Where a fee is marked "not published," the school does not post this figure online as of the date of this review.

Annual extras: what the tuition figure misses

Every international school in Valencia charges fees on top of tuition. These are not optional for most families and they are rarely bundled into the headline number.

Recalculating the all-in annual cost from verified figures

The following estimates are built from primary-source figures fetched above. All carry the same caveat: verify with admissions before you rely on them.

BSV (Secondary Year 9 to 11): EUR 9,600 tuition + EUR 2,100 bus + lunch optional (approx EUR 2,100 if taken) + EUR 726 materials = approximately EUR 12,400 to EUR 14,500 all-in.

ASV (Middle School, non-shareholder, first year): EUR 9,291 tuition + EUR 1,250 annual enrolment + EUR 1,500 capital (one-time) + EUR 2,500 share (one-time) + bus (not published) = a minimum of EUR 14,541 in year one before bus and any optional extras. From year two: EUR 9,291 tuition + EUR 1,250 annual enrolment + extras.

Shackleton (Year 9 to 11, with bus): EUR 9,650 tuition (lunch included) + EUR 1,960 bus + approx EUR 600 uniform and activities = approximately EUR 12,210 to EUR 13,000.

Caxton (Secondary KS3, lunch included): EUR 9,480 tuition (lunch included) + EUR 1,820 Valencia city bus + EUR 464 resources + uniforms and activities = approximately EUR 12,200 to EUR 13,000. Note: confirm whether the published monthly figures apply to 2026-27.

Deutsche Schule (Klassen 5 to 8): EUR 5,541 tuition + EUR 190 digital media + lunch (not published separately for 2026-27) + bus (not published separately for 2026-27) + extras. Tuition alone is the lowest of any school in this comparison with confirmed 2026-27 figures; the all-in total requires a direct enquiry for lunch and transport amounts.

Lycée Français (Lower Secondary): EUR 6,549 tuition + EUR 1,112 lunch (5 meals/week) = EUR 7,661 tuition-plus-lunch. Add bus and activities for a full estimate. Likely all-in range: EUR 9,000 to EUR 11,000.

The original draft's "EUR 11,000 to 17,000 all-in" range remains consistent with verified figures for BSV, ASV and Shackleton. The Lycée Français and Deutsche Schule run lower in tuition. Where key extras were not published, we cannot compute a reliable all-in total: contact admissions for those schools.

What fees cover year to year

Fees are set each spring for the following September. Most Valencia international schools increase tuition by 3 to 6% annually, loosely tracking Spanish CPI plus a school-specific factor. Enrolment fees (the one-time registration charge) are almost always non-refundable and do not count toward tuition.

Families who want a multi-year fee forecast should ask at admissions: "What has been your average annual fee increase over the last three years?" Most schools will share this figure, and it is a more honest planning figure than any external estimate.

The schools that publish fees clearly and the ones that prefer you call

Schools with published fee schedules as of July 2026, at primary source: BSV, ASV, Shackleton, Deutsche Schule Valencia, Lycée Français Internacional de Valencia, Ausias March (2025-26 PDF only; 2026-27 not yet published). Caxton publishes monthly figures though the exact school year is not confirmed on the page. Cambridge House publishes via a downloadable PDF that was not accessible in this review.

Schools that do not publish fees online: El Plantío, Mas Camarena, Colegio Helios. ACIL does not publish fees on its own website; admissions partner iapex.org reports figures that should be confirmed with the school directly.

For all schools that do not publish, call or email admissions directly. The question to ask: "Can you send me the current fee schedule for [year group], including tuition, registration, and any mandatory extras?"

Frequently asked questions

What do international schools in Valencia cost per year?

Annual tuition at the main British and American international schools with published 2026-27 figures runs EUR 7,427 to EUR 9,990 per child depending on school and year group. Shackleton runs EUR 8,350 to EUR 9,990 with lunch included. BSV runs EUR 7,600 to EUR 9,950 with lunch extra. ASV runs EUR 7,427 to EUR 9,862 with lunch included but with significant additional one-time entry fees. Adding mandatory extras, a realistic all-in annual cost per child at most British and American schools runs EUR 11,000 to EUR 14,500. The Lycée Français and Deutsche Schule run lower in tuition (EUR 5,541 to EUR 7,442) though extras are billed separately.

Which Valencia international school has the lowest fees?

Among schools with published 2026-27 tuition, Deutsche Schule Valencia has the lowest confirmed figures (EUR 5,541 to EUR 6,103 depending on year group) though lunch and transport are charged separately and those amounts are not published for 2026-27. Lycée Français Internacional de Valencia runs EUR 5,809 to EUR 7,442 with lunch published at EUR 889 to EUR 1,112/year. Ausias March Infant School ran EUR 4,390 over 10 months in 2025-26; 2026-27 figures are not yet published. El Plantío, Mas Camarena and Colegio Helios do not publish fees for direct comparison.

Are Valencia international school fees higher than Madrid or Barcelona?

International school fees in Valencia run roughly 20 to 35% lower than comparable schools in Madrid or Barcelona. British School of Madrid and King's College Madrid headline tuition runs EUR 10,000 to EUR 15,000 and above. The quality difference at the top of the Valencia market (Caxton, BSV, ASV, Shackleton) versus the top of the Madrid market is real but narrower than the fee gap suggests.

Do international schools in Valencia offer bursaries or sibling discounts?

Several do. Shackleton: 2nd sibling 10%, 3rd sibling 30%, 4th sibling complimentary (all must be enrolled). Deutsche Schule: 10%, 20%, 30% for successive siblings, excluding Kindergarten. Lycée Français: 10% to 70% from the third child. Caxton and BSV have offered sibling discounts historically - ask admissions for current terms. Bursaries exist at some schools but are rarely advertised publicly. Ask: "Do you offer sibling discounts or financial assistance programs?"

What happens to fees if we leave mid-year?

Most international schools in Valencia require a full academic year's notice period, typically by 31 March for the following September. Leaving mid-year without adequate notice means fees may still be owed. Enrolment fees are almost universally non-refundable. Check the contract before signing.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which school has the lowest published tuition?

Among the current pages we checked, Caxton starts at 687 euros a month in Baby Caxton and BSV starts at 715 euros a month in the youngest years.

Which school has the biggest first-time admission fee?

British School of Valencia publishes a 3,250 euro first-time admission fee, which is one of the largest entry fees on the current fee pages.

Are lunches usually included?

Sometimes. Caxton and Cambridge House include lunch in tuition, while BSV and Shackleton list lunch separately or as part of selected services.

Do school fees usually come in 10 payments?
